Together, they were Tandera."

Thank you so much to C.F.E. Black for providing me with an ARC of her book in exchange for an honest review!
When Red's father suddenly dies, Red becomes the new king over night. Feeling grief-stricken and a little unprepared, he lashes out at his father's supposed protector: the mysterious master sorcerer. However, he soon learns that he needs the sorcerer's help more than he realized, once he discovers that his father died of a magical curse, and Red might be next.
Blade of Ash is a young adult fantasy with a great moral. The romance is slow-burn and sweet, and also totally clean! The writing is smooth and jam-packed with symbolism. I loved the character development and the relationships with the side characters were very charming. It's the kind of book I wish I had when I was in middle school!
I gave Blade of Ash 4/5 stars and would recommend it to young adults who love fantasy, romance, and magic body guards. The book is set to be released January 25th, 2022!
