Review: Six of Crows
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Can street magic still be impressive when reading about it instead of seeing it? In this book, yes!
"Six people, but a thousand ways this insane plan could go wrong." --Six of Crows
Six of Crows is about a ragtag group of six who come together to do the impossible: break into a high-security prison and capture a prisoner.

Review: Sorcery of Thorns
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
So cute!!
"For these were not ordinary books the library kept. They were knowledge, given life. Wisdom, given voice."
In a world where magical grimoires have unique personalities and intentions, you need a heavily guarded library to store them, and capable wardens to watch over and protect them.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review: To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Phew... that was one action-packed adventure!
"There's no such thing as safety. Only degrees of risk."
Years after the release of Eragon, Paolini is finally back with his first adult novel, and it won best sci-fi of the year in 2020 in the Goodreads Choice Awards!

Review: Unfettered Journey
Unfettered Journey by Gary F. Bengier

"The world seems designed to keep conscious creatures skating on the edge of unknowing."
Unfettered Journey follows Joe as he tackles some mathematical and philosophical questions on his sabbatical that he's been struggling with for a while.

Review: Mercurial
Mercurial by Naomi Hughes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was so impressed with this book, the ending gave me chills!
"The blade of vengeance has no hilt, [...] It cuts all who wield it."
Mercurial is a standalone fantasy novel about an empire grudgingly held in check by the frightening power of the Destroyer, who also happens to be the younger sister of the Empress.
